I Got Bit

I have been bitten by a create-less critter
Making me dull and translucid
Coupled with thoughts that I have barely two months to write
A pocket-draining certification,
My thoughts are in total disarray
Ahhh!
(/scratching my scalp/pulling my hair)

Guilty for not posting
Guilty for not learning
Guilty for pretending to be learning and posting.
I stand accused and judged by myself.
Yet, don't be surprised,
If I post infrequently when I say I won't awhile.

She Called You Out

Guy: I don't understand you.
Gal: Why do you say that?

Guy: By all indications you like me as much as I like you. Why do you refuse to go out with me?
Gal: I can't. I just can't.

Guy: Why not? Is there someone else?
Gal: No! (shaking her head vehemently)

Guy: Then tell me why you refuse to go out with me. Something to make me understand since you do admit our attraction.
Gal: She called out on you.

Guy: What does that mean? Who called?(looking totally perplexed)
Gal: A friend. She likes you and now that you are available.....(she leaves the sentence open for interpretation)

Guy: What utter nonsense! Don't I have a say in who I decide to date?
Gal: Yes, of course, you do. She called out on you when I was undecided. She chose first.

Eggshells

Imagine a dance,
Adowa*, if you will;
Maybe ballet, flamenco?
Imagine the carefully orchestrated movements,
Flexing muscles, balanced core, graceful, accentuated.
I can feel it
The dance,
The tune;
You, humming it under-breath,
Guilty; you've judged yourself.
I sense it.
Is your ogre of a boss around?
Are you scared?
Don't equate it to respect.
What did you do?
Own up!
How else will they know,
You are not okay; stark-raving mad.
Say it
Stop walking on eggshells.
Pricking like blunt pins,
Causing hurt without wounds.
Making me uneasy.

*Adowa:- A dance performed by the Akans in Ghana, West Africa.

This has been in drafts for far too long. Do you notice a change in the atmosphere in an office when the person in charge is around and when the person is not? It tells so much on the personality of the person at the place. Someone does something offensive and has already judged his or her action as guilty, but does not admit the offense; the person is not free to be their self when around you because of they are uncertain of what your reaction will be to the offense. There is always this sense of unease that you can't shake off; walking on eggshells, tiptoeing around. I am sure they will jump of their skin should you yell at them.
