Burger-highlife Jazz

For the first time last two weeks, I invited +233, a jazz club at Kanda, Accra. I absolutely loved it and definitely will go there again.

George Darko, highly acclaimed guitarist and father of Burger-highlife in Ghana, performed marvelously with his band. I couldn't believe I could still remember the words of the songs, which he composed ages ago.

Paapa Koo Nimo was in attendance.

Koo Nimo and George Darko; what a combination!

I took a five minute video of the performance with my phone. Enjoy.

I absolutely love George Darko's music. His "Obi Abaayewa ei mene wo beko" was our first-dance song at our wedding.
There's just something about classic highlife music that rubs me just right... The creativity in instrumentation and the lyrics... It's just great stuff!

BTW, what was up with that over-zealous young man in the video? Can't blame him though. He probably is as passionate about highlife as I am. LOL
